Once I left school, I didn’t really have any idea what I wanted to do in life, our career officers back then were not particularly helpful and basic jobs like insurance or building work was the main topic of
discussion a bit different today, the opportunities now are endless. I was just sports mad and all I wanted was to play football and hoped to become a professional footballer ,after lots of trials with some big clubs it became evident that my level was not as a professional but I high standard amateur player which is what I did for many years and work was a secondary part of my life, I was working on building sites generally with no real ambition other than looking forward to the next match.
I then took up kick boxing and karate gaining a black belt, this is where I first began to understand the importance of focus and discipline, without this I would never have achieved my goal of achieving black belt status which was my target when first starting the sport. I now fully understand that these two principles are the key to success in life and business.
Then everything changed in my twenties when working on a building site a flash car drove up and a man in a smart suit smelling of expensive aftershave pulled up and asked me for directions, there was I in dirty boots and shorts telling this obviously successful man where to go ,as he thanked me and drove away I looked at myself and thought I can be him what am I doing with my life.
I packed my job in despite having a wife at home with our first child and took a self employed sales job working on just commission which was pretty scary at the time, fortunately I found I was pretty good at it and developed to be one of the top salesmen in the company and my wages compared to the building site was a big jump and set me on the path to better opportunities.
I was offered a position as sales and marketing director in a small company and with a team grew the business from 1 million to 5 million a year in 5 years using the same sales processes I coach today, it was evident when I joined there was no sales structure and follow up systems in place once I rectified this the growth was amazing.
I then negotiated a pay off and spent 15 years having fun starting and growing 3 businesses and then selling them for a profit, again using the same techniques and processes that I learnt over the years.
Today I love working with ambitious entrepreneurs to help them implement a proven marketing and sales system that solves the problem of client acquisition, and with my help and guidance my sole aim is to get you into the top 15% of businesses in your industry which in turn allows you to live the life you dreamt of when starting out on your journey.
Your key to success is to follow the system, take ACTION and be consistent, a positive mindset and complete clarity of where you are now and where you want to be in 12 months and beyond is vital.
